Unlock Your Hotel's Potential with Apple Maps: Claim Your Profile and Add a Direct Booking Link

Apple Maps isn't just your average maps tool; it's a powerhouse for boosting visibility as iPhones dominate pockets worldwide. With hundreds of millions of users every year, it’s an essential tool for hoteliers.

Apple Maps enriches its listings with content and links from major platforms like Booking.com and TripAdvisor. This makes your profile look pretty but… it causes you to loose out on direct bookings.

Here’s how to take charge of your Apple Business profile and make sure that those potential bookers visit your hotel website directly!

Before We Dive In, Let's Clear Up Some Common Queries:

  1. What’s the difference between “claiming the business” versus “adding the business”?
If your hotel already pops up on Apple Maps, you're looking to claim your listing (detailed steps ahead). If it’s missing in action, you'll want to start fresh and add your business.

  2. Do I need anything besides my laptop to get this done?
Absolutely. You’ll need access to your hotel’s official phone line. Apple likes to keep things secure, so they’ll dial this number to give you a verification code—make sure someone’s there to pick up and write down the code!

Let's Claim the profile and get that Website link fixed

Step 1: Navigate to Apple's Hub

Head over to Apple Business Connect and sign in with your Apple ID. Don’t have one? It’s a breeze to set up, and you'll need it to list your business.

Step 2: Choose Your Business Category

You'll find three options:

  • Small Business (up to 24 locations)

  • Enterprise (25+ locations)

  • Third-Party Partner.

Click on the right type to proceed.

Step 3: Search and Select Your Listing

Type in your hotel's name and pinpoint the correct location. If your establishment doesn't show up, you’ll have the option to "Create A New Listing."

Step 4: Confirm Your Location's Address

Ensure the pre-populated address is accurate and the map pin is correctly placed. All set? Click Next.

Step 5: Review Pre-filled Information & Operating Hours

Apple might have already filled in some details for you. Verify these are correct and then click Next.

Step 6: Verify Your Business

Here comes the crucial part: Apple will call the phone number provided to deliver a verification code. Once verified, Apple will wrap up the process and confirm your claim.

Congratulations, your hotel is now claimed!

Step 7: Add A Custom Reserve Button in Apple Business Connect

Unfortunately, your profile will automatically link the "Reserve" button to external OTA like Booking.com or TripAdvisor.

So let’s cut out the middleman!

Step 8: Customize Your Link

Create a unique action link for your hotel:

  1. Log in and click on Info in the sidebar.

  2. Click the > next to Actions, then select Add.

  3. Choose Add an Action Link next to any active actions.

  4. From the Action menu, add your custom link, then hit Add.

  5. Save your settings.

  6. Repeat these steps if you need more custom links for different actions.

  7. Check out the Place Card preview to see how your actions display.

Now, Apple Maps will direct potential customers straight to your website when they hit "Reserve," boosting your direct bookings and visitor engagement!
